I upgraded the brake on both my XCR L and M rifles, it is perhaps the single most important upgrade. With a Lantac Dragon 3-stage brake on both, they both feel like they shoot identically, aside from the concussive blast difference with the 308. Each went from recoil + muzzle rise to almost no recoil at all, and zero muzzle rise.
